Maishashur mardini  Dashain is considered as the major festival of Nepal. Various deities are worshiped in the Shakta sect. This festival is celebrated by worshiping various goddesses for nine consecutive days from the day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin to the tenth day. Dashain is celebrated by worshiping Shaili Putri, Bramhacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalratri, Mahagauri, Siddhidatri and Navdurga.
